About me
Anthony Navarro
Software Developer, PHP & Laravel
Hi! I'm a PHP and Laravel developer with 9 years of professional experience, but I've been programming for over 15 years. My most recent job was with ScreenPal, where I worked across the marketing site, subscription flows, and third-party integrations. Before that, I did client work at a few agencies and had a brief stint in C# at a medium-sized SaaS company.
PHP is my primary tool, but I'm comfortable with JavaScript, SQL, and the surrounding infrastructure layer: Docker, Linux, Nginx, and cloud hosting via services like DigitalOcean. I try to use whatever the project needs.
Outside of work, I build apps and tools for my own use and tinker with electronics like microcontroller boards (think Arduino) and single-board computers (like a Raspberry Pi) to try to further bring my ideas into the real world. It's the best way I know to stay sharp and up-to-date.

-
Full-stack Software Developer — ScreenPal
Worked across the marketing site, subscription flows, and third-party integrations. Cut page load times from ~20s to ~3s using Redis caching, modernized the subscription UI with Laravel and Livewire (which lifted conversion rates by ~25%), and integrated content APIs from providers like Shutterstock and Storyblocks. Also maintained and extended an internal admin tool used by the support team.
-
Full-stack Software Developer — I-Tul Software and Design
Built and maintained client sites using Laravel and WordPress. Refactored legacy codebases and integrated third-party APIs including Authorize.net, HelloSign, Twilio, and Salesforce. I regularly handled sites for several clients at a time.
-
Software Developer — Direct Technology
Extended API functionality in C# for a SaaS product used by companies nationwide. Adjusted SQL queries to meet changing data requirements. Attended daily standups and was responsible for keeping feature updates on track with our biweekly sprints.
-
Backend Software Developer — Three29
Built WordPress plugins and made theme changes using PHP, JavaScript, and CSS. Used Laravel for projects where WordPress was not a good fit. Also used and helped maintain an in-house web framework that was used prior to our adoption of Laravel.

Personal Projects
-
Bridge
A household operations dashboard that bridges several parts of my daily life. This application manages chores, fitness tracking, plant care, and a ton more. Self-hosted on a home server via Docker and accessible to anyone on the local network.
-
Dinner With Lucy
Named for my dog Lucy, who passed last December. What started as a cookbook for her has grown into a collection of online recipes that I use regularly. I actively maintain it and completed a full rewrite in early 2026.

CronosPulse
This application consumes the USGS and NWS APIs, giving users up-to-date information on earthquakes, volcanoes, and flooding events. While some pages can take a second or two to initially load, API calls are cached and there are scheduled tasks that pull data into the database to give users quick access to the data they need.
Outside the code
Life offline
When I'm not at a keyboard I'm usually out on a trail with my dogs, Ellie and Nerys.
